Personal Reflections - Hidden Truths

Exploring Matters of the Heart

with Terry-Ann Scott

Are you constantly seeking ways to improve your home, your surrounding or YOU? Are you addicted to making changes or improvements in any form? If you are prone to changes in a more than regular fashion, it's time to look within.

While some changes may be good, the constant need for freshness or those regular urges for having a new appearance or different environment may be the result of a secondary problem that needs to be addressed.

These urges usually serve to cover up an underlying problem such as pass trauma/hurts (from being raped, abused, losing a loved one, suffering abandonment, rejection, etc.), Of course from these would stem low self esteem, loneliness poor self image and so much more hence the desire for change; but these are only secondary - the byproduct of a deeper issue - which results in the need to feel better about ourselves, or just good on a whole.

If this is your story and you have identified that this could be you then it is time to let go off the past. This is done by a matter of choice. These things hurts, and the fear of being used, abused or mistreated still lives on but you now have to choose to let it go. Do not fear the possibility but instead face your reality. Life goes on and we all need to come to that place in our life where we will give everything to God and that includes trusting him with our entire lives. While this does not eradicate all possibility of ever being hurt again, it does eliminate that dreaded bondage of fear that tends to trap us and we can be free to be ourselves because of this trust in God. It give us the confidence where we too can say, "God will work all things together for good to them that love him". So while we may still experience pain, we still have that hope of a brighter future and a better tomorrow (go to this link and read also http://www.terryannscott.com/apps/blog/search?q=yourself ).

So the next time you get that urge to change the living room (even though you just change it) or to get a new hair cut (though you still love the one you recently got), shine the light within. Begin to search your heart and fix those ugly image and memories of pass hurts and pain within. Eliminate those pain and fear that traps you daily and controls the choices you make. God is willing to help and he is just a prayer away. He would love to hear from you today. Real beauty starts from within so instead of improving your physical appearance all the time, take a look at your heart and when this is fixed the beauty will shine right out from within.

Until next time, have yourselves a productive week and Shine for Christ!

Did you know that someone can have a pretty face but looks unattractive because of a nasty mouth or bad attitude when demonstrated? The opposite is also true. You can have an unattractive face in reality but look beautiful to many because of the qualities and pureness that comes from your spirit.
