People often become jealous or envious of those who are anointed, but have you ever stop to think what they had to endure to get to where they are now?
When purpose is on your life, expect all hell to break lose. In the book of St Luke chapter 3 and 4, after Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him and He was anointed for purpose. The moment Jesus entered into His season where purpose was to be fulfilled, the devil began to attack (not before but after). Jesus had to be tested, tried and proven, before power could rest upon Him and He overcame the temptation. I love how the bible says it-- Jesus was led into the wilderness being filled with the Spirit and Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit. He had to overcome before power could be unleashed.
This was when Jesus' ministry began and this was also when His sufferings began. Upon returning to Nazareth, the first message that Jesus preached stirred problem. He was opposed greatly to the point where they threw Him out of the city with the intention of pitching Him down hill.
When you are anointed for purpose, you too will have to be process before power can be released upon your life. The only way to receive power is by overcoming. You can tell when God is about ready to do something new and great in our life becasue all hell will begin to break lose around you. Friends will walk away, family may turn against you, you will be rejected and mocked by many, but be encouraged knowing that if they did it to Jesus they will do it to you.
They said Jesus was possessed, they said He worked with demonic spirits, but Jesus never allowed His critics to distract Him from fulfilling what He was sent here to do. No matter what people may say about you, no matter what they may try to do to you, no matter who they may try to turn against you, keep your focus. Never become distracted by your critics. Know yourself and value your relationship with God.
The bible tells us to count our cost and the cost to be a disciple of Christ is great.
Jesus said, if you are not willing to leave all you have for the sake of the kingdom, you cannot be His disciple. There is a price to pay. Are you willing to pay the price?
