Personal Reflections - Hidden Truths

Exploring Matters of the Heart

with Terry-Ann Scott

Have you ever been in a position before where you thought, "this is it, my life is over, or I'm dead now", you were about to throw in the towel but time have elapsed and you find yourself looking at where you are now in comparison to where you use to be when it becomes obvious that God has been with you all along, working things out even when it did not seem that way? If you can identify with this, maybe you have reach the point also where the question "what if i had give up then," follows.

You know, that moment where you are just about to arrive at a breaking point and you are now challenged with the choice of giving up or keep going and just as you make your decision the end results of your situation is revealed. The bible says the race is not for the swift but for those who can endure to the end and that is what this is all about.... endurance... enduring to the end. Not knowing when the end is can be a challenge for many. Just think about it for a minute. You are at the gym doing bicep curls with a trainer and after many reps your biceps begin to burn. You begin to get exhausted but he's pushing you to complete a few more reps. You become concerned because of the burn you're feeling and not knowing how many more you can manage bothers you. The idea of doing more just forces you to want to give in. Anyways, you keep going and going but your muscles get real fatigued and sore. Not wanting to give up, you try to find out how many are left and he responds by saying, "give me a few more, you're almost there keep going". You want to complete them all but you just can't seem to fathom how to get those reps done with very little energy and through all that pain. You get the idea? How many more could you do under that circumstance?

To endure to the end means you need to keep going and trying at what ever until that break comes. That is how it is in life. Sometimes we may find ourselves in situations where you don't know how much more you can take or how long you can keep trying, but you must remember that it is not over until God says so. The only way out is to first go through and if he brought it to you he can bring you through it. The reward is at the end and if you fail to hang in there and push through the circumstance no matter what, you will miss out on your breakthrough.

Moral of the story: Hold on and keep trying no matter what because only then will you reap if you faint not. Keep pushing because the reward awaits you at the end. Pray for endurance and stretch yourself. Push a little more because its not over until God says it is.
