If you've been in a situation where you have acted out of impulse and said or did something that was not impressive, you probable would ask yourself the question why did I do (or say) that?
If you have had some of those moment or way too many, chances are you would not even realize your odd response until after you calm down and stop breathing hard.
The Holy Spirit sure has a way of dealing with us in moments like those; sometimes with a sharp rebuke and at others times he nudges us gentle by bringing back the situation and our response before our mind. This is the embarrassing part where we might say, "Oh my God! I wonder what s/he thinks lol."
Well believe it or not, here's the hard part; in many instances if not all, these are the results of spirits influencing us to behave in a particular manner. That's right, many times we have given ourselves over to the influence of demonic spirits. If you fail to believe this, just take a note of the feelings that try to come upon you to act or behave inappropriately. This is a constant war against the flesh! The bible says resist the devil and he will flee from you and if you resist these urge it will eventually go and you feel the difference.
The same principle holds true when you are offended, or hurt in any way; you will find that you have to fight the spirit of anger, hatred, unforgiveness, bitterness, you name it, that will come against you. This is a daily battle that we are in. Fear, anxiety and worry etc. are spirits that we contend in a similar way.
Might I hasten to add that the fact that you come up against these spirit does not mean you are possessed (where a demonic spirit lives within you), but it reflects the fight we are in where these spirits will almost constantly try to oppress you (act from without). On the other hand, if you find that it is impossible for you to control yourself in any way or if you struggle with things you know is contrary to the word of God, it would be wise to talk to a Holy Ghost filled Pastor or someone with a close walk with God whom you trust.
Pay attention to the way you act and the feelings you come up against. You do not have to do something because you feel like it neither do you have to say something because you feel like it. If you belong to Christ, pay attention and represent him well.
