Personal Reflections - Hidden Truths

Exploring Matters of the Heart

with Terry-Ann Scott

Living life is all about making choices but it should never be to just make a choice, but always to make the right choice. The choices we make can either break us or make us. They will either build us up or tear us down, it will either lead to your success or to great disdain. With this in mind we must learn to make the right choices for ourselves.

People often make impaired choices because of impaired thinking so to begin with, you must get your mind into the right place and have the right focus if you want to make good decisions. It is a normal thing to lean towards thinking that what you think is right but it can work against you when what you think is right is not right; so check your thinking and check it again.

Its very alarming the reality that exist of the things people will do from what they won't do because of the belief system they are working with. People may eat somewhere because of how it looks without even paying close attention to the quality of the food or who prepares it. This is especially true if everyone seems to be going there. OR, people may choose a particular style or fashion because that's the new swing or trend, or maybe because everyone is wearing it. Some may deliberately look elsewhere because everyone IS wearing it and you love to stand out but there has to be more to your choices than just what people thinks!

If you are going to learn to make good choices, you must first be free from all public opinion and outside pressure that you may come up against. It does not matter how it looks, or what others might think as long as God is in it! The majority is not always right and so too it may not always be a good idea to go with the crowd. Learn to make wise, solid lasting choices that will impact your life in a positive way without the direct or indirect influence of others on you. You don't always have to follow the trend but instead dare to be a trend setter. Either way, pay keen attention to the choices you make in life and even more importantly, pay attention to the reasons behind your decisions! You may surprise yourself!
