Personal Reflections - Hidden Truths

Exploring Matters of the Heart

with Terry-Ann Scott

Are you familiar with the popular bible quote which says, 'whatsoever a man sow that shall he reap', or the famous saying, 'what goes around comes around'? Quiet often we recognize the harsh effects our words and actions can have on us while we over look another quote I have to agree with - 'be careful what you wish' and i'll add - because wishes can come through.

You know those days in the morning where you wish the alarm clock did not have to go off? Have you had those moments when you wish you could just draw the sheets, lie in bed all day and do nothing, and the thought - or something close - comes to your mind; I wish I had the flu or I wish i was sick so I don't have to report to work. Maybe you even faked being sick or having 'so called' emergencies a few times! If you know you have been guilty well its time to start watching what you think because it will come into reality sooner or later.

I recall a time in my life where I was fed up and lets just say ready to give up on life and everyone around me. Things was not working out for me and the devil capitalized on my situation and I bought into his lies. Each morning I woke up I was so depressed for the fact that I had life and I kept envisioned myself intensely, sick and dying. I wanted to get out of this world so badly that every core and fiber of my being felt what I envisioned and guess what; I became ill!

I was so sick to the point where I could not walk due to chronic back pain and I had to get shots at the hospital weekly for the sever pain I felt, which later became of no help to me. After spending a fortune on all sorts of test, I was told I had a huge kidney stone that look like a rock on one of my lungs. The doctor sent me for another test to do before scheduling surgery he said I needed, to break the stone in pieces to get them out.

Well guess what again?? During the same time, I received a visitation from the Lord! He came in person and he taught me a few lessons I will not share now; but one question he asked me stuck out and it was this. "Why did you ask me to put sickness on you?" I said, "Lord I did not...". Before I could go further he placed images of the past into my head reminding me of those times I wished I was sick and would eventually die. I could not refute those moment. From then, I got a clear understanding that we must not only be careful of the things we say and do, but also of the things we think. He told me he was going to heal me and I remember when his healing power came a few weeks after. I felt intense heat and pressure on my back for about two hours - it was as if someone was standing on my back and I am totally healed and pain free without the intervention of medical surgery today! With that being said, I believe the opposite is quite the same. What if we learned how to use our imagination wisely and think ourselves out of every dramatic or horrible situation we find ourselves into? Our words are powerful, but our thoughts have power too; so get your thought life together!

You can be awarded by what you think so until then - Be careful what you think!
