Have you ever taken public transportation or purchased something somewhere andyou recieved more change than you should have? Or, have you been in need and the thing which you are in need of is at your fingertips, except it does not belong to you? Maybe you have been in a position where an empty snack or sweet wrapper fell from your grasp to the ground and you chose to let it ramain because you thought no one saw or one wrapper would not add to littering.
Well if you have been in any compromising situation like these, or any similar, allow me to highlight, it is your reaction that will determine your integrity.
Integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfullness or accuracy of one's actions. Integrity can be regarded as the opposite of hypocrisy.
It is built by doing things you know you should, even when no one else is watching. God's eyes are everywhere beholding the evil and the good and it is on this fear for God our integrity must be built. The book of Galatians tells us that we must do everything as unto God and do so willingly and whole heartily. Just as we should be more concerned with how God thinks about us instead of others, we should be more concerned about what God sees us doing instead of others. The things we practice and now do, are the same things God will come and find us doing.
So, the next time you promise someone something or the next time you may be tempted to do or say something you should not, remember, God is watching. To maintain your integrity at first is never always easy but it is when you become persistent and determine to do that which is right no matter what, you will know that you are building your integrity.
Be honest with yourself so you can be honest to others. This is the only way you can become honest before God. Consistency is the key and determination will make it happen.
