Have you ever seen someone so caught up with something that they become lost in it? Let's take the example of a movie that is so interesting that it hooks you. Someone may need your attention and you remain ignorant to the fact, or, maybe it is the other way around, where you feel the urge to slap them so you can get their attention.Credits for this is given to a simple five lettered word - FOCUS. In fact, if you are constantly like this, I would like to add that that is "intense focus'.With all the distractions and drama happening around us, this is what we need. We need to keep our eyes on God no matter what. This focus must be maintained (on God), that when the storms of life and those fiery trials that the devil device for our destruction hit us, it will never cause our eyes to be shifted from off God.It is quiet common for us to take our eyes off God and place it on our problems, but this is dangerous grounds to tread.I believe Jesus was focused. He knew how to maintain his focus and his focus was quiet intense. Can you imagine him carrying that cross after being severely whipped that even his intestines was exposed? He was focused when he gave them his back for bruising though he knew it would cause him much pain. That cross was not easy for him to carry but he rose back to the challenge each time he fell due to the weakness, pressure and pain he endured while carrying the cross. He was willing, he was determine, he had focus in order to complete his mission to the end. What if he looked at the journey he had to endure instead of the results or blessed reward to be accomplished at the end? What if? In my opinion to take our eyes off Christ and to put it on our problems is a 'suicide mission' waiting to happen. That can be compared to standing on quick or sinking sand. The word of God says, 'thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee". What are you going through right now? What is it that you fail to believe God can fix for you? I believe and I declare that there can be peace in the midst of your storm. This peace can only be acquired through Jesus Christ when we keep our eyes, our minds and our hearts on him. This peace can only be maintained when our eyes become unmovable and fixed on him no matter what.I'll end this weeks' segment with the words of a famous hymn, "On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, ALL other ground is sinking sand".Take a hold on these words and find comfort in it... there can be peace, in the midst of your storm. It is a choice. May God bless you all.
