from the series ""The Greatest Lessons ever Learnt"

(based on a personal compilation about life).

Life is full of many surprises dished in all kinds of packages. Some of the surprises life offers to us comes in the form of hurt, pain, misfortune, grief, sadness, happiness, success, fun, you name it. While these are all gifts dished out to us, some expected and some unexpected we are still left with the ability to choose how we respond to them and how we allow these adversities to affect us.

One of life's greatest lesson ever taught to me is to love and be happy with myself no matter what.

Very often people look for love and happiness all in the wrong places. It is quiet the norm for people to turn to others with the hopes and efforts of finding love and happiness to fill all the void and empty areas of their lives. The truth about this is, if we do not feel good about ourselves no one else can fix that for us. We can hide behind the love we get from others but the problems will certainly still be there. This results in a temporary fix and added frustration as you try to mask away something that needs your attention.

If you are feeling lonely, sad, hurt or unhappy, try shifting your attention inward on yourself instead of looking outward to others and allow God to help you heal from within. There are some things we cannot do on our own in life but if we ask God to help us to overcome the challenges we face, he will. Ask him to give you the ability to love yourself and the strength to be happy with who you are without the intervention of others.

Stop looking to other to make you happy. After all, if you can't make yourself happy then it is that you've decided to live in constant misery as people will never always make us happy and if you can't find happiness within yourself will you be able to make others happy?

You are special. There is no one else that can replace you as you were uniquely and wonderfully made by a creature who loves you and cares very much about you.

Change what needs to be changed and fix what needs to be fixed. Stop complaining about where you are at now and where you want to or should have been. Begin to work on your change today and remember to not only love yourself but to love others also!
