Have you ever been in a line in the supermarket where it looked as though you would have to wait forever before getting to the cashier? But then you realize the line next to you is moving faster so you make a switch. It sure looked like the right thing to do until you glimpsed the line you were in and it becomes obvious you are now furthur away than you would have been if you just waited.

Or, maybe you've been speeding down the highway in a hurry when suddenly you come upon a line of traffic so you switch to the lane that appears to be flowing faster only to end up stuck in a worse position than you were in before.

If you have been in a situation similar to any of which I have mentioned, this is the part where you would now use the "if" word. IF only I knew, IF I just stayed in that line or lane. IF only.

We are moving in a fast paste world these days and people are looking for the quick and easy way out. Things and time are changing and we have to be careful and ensure that we do not get caught up with this worldly system.

The microwave mentality is taking over and it's even in the churches today. People pray, people trust and hope, but a lot of persons are not willing to wait on God to the end if the answer tarries. Many are loosing faith and hope in God because of delayed answers to prayer and this is serious. Many give up at the brink of their breakthrough without even realizing how close they were to the end.

Habakkuk says, "though the vision tarries wait for it", and that is the mentality we all need to have. In addition to waiting, please remember that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers. Do you remember Daniel? He prayed to God and his answer was on its way but the angel that was carrying his answer was withstood by principalities in the air and because of that the answer to Daniel's prayer was delayed for 21 days. I say that to say, wait in faith and fight with knowledge. Be sensitive in all situation. Sensitivity can only be acquired by the Holy Spirit so stick with him.

I'll ask the question, what have you been praying for? What is it that you desire God to do for you? What have you been waiting for? Please take the time to develop your love and trust in him that you may not become weary while waiting. Pray for the desire to love him more above your needs and that you will be happy while waiting as long as you have him. Desire him so much that all you want is him and this will make waiting more easy.

Do not give up on God. You may very well be at the brink of your breakthrough right now. Do not turn your back on him or take matters into your own hands. God knows what you need and he has the best for all of us, but are you willing to wait for it? If you've trust God this far, you might as well trust him to the end.

As we approach a new year, I pray that all your desires and all your needs will be met; but even more, I pray that you will all grasp the full understanding of God's love for you and the importance of trusting and waiting on him while maintaining your joy because the joy of the Lord is our strength.

"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like the eagle; They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint, teach me Lord, teach me Lord how to wait".

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord (Psalm 27:14).

It pays to wait! Happy new year to you all when it comes.
