from the series ""The Greatest Lessons ever Learnt"

(based on a personal compilation about life).

Terry-Ann Scott

A farmer was in his field working one day when his shovel broke. He was in need of another but had none. The farmer was very apprehensive about borrowing his neighbour's shovel but he decided to make an attempt. As he approached his neighbour, he found it very difficult to bring himself to ask. While he was "beating arround the bush", another farmer came and boldly ask for a shovel to borrow and sure enough, he got it.

Moral of the Story:

In life, we should never be timid with making steps towards progression or succession. Opportunity comes but once and an opportunity missed results in delays or setbacks in our accomplishments that we may never get again.

Things may not always go the way we would like or things may not always flow smoothly as planned but on the contrary things will sometimes go as predicted.

In my opinion, no matter what the outcome is, nothing beats a failure but a trial. I would rather to fail trying than to fail not trying. What about you?

So the next time an opportunity presents itself to improve your life, your business, your marriage, your income, your skills or what ever, stop putting off for tomorrow what can be done today.

Beware of procrastination, go ahead and take risks because opportunities are not always readily available. Make use of what you have now! The answer may very well be at your fingertips but you'll never know unless you try. Think wise!
