Your Motive Can Corrupt Your Action

I grew up believing that it was wrong for people to talk about themselves in any way because this was considered pride, and we must be careful of pride. As a result of this, I was always skeptic about talking about myself or sharing certain testimony that was personal. Nothing is wrong with testifying about the goodness of God; in fact, we should be sharing our testimonies and not keep silent that we can overcome the devil by giving God glory; and the Lord spoke to me about this. The Lord told me that we are allowing the devil to rob Him from His glory when we keep silent because of this kind of thinking.

If I testify about what God has done for me, it is not my testimony that determines whether or not it is accepted by God, but my motive behind it. If I testify that others can hear about my success or to brag, then it is wrong. But if I testify that someone may be encouraged and Jesus glorified then there is absolutely nothing wrong with sharing.

It is not our words or actions that corrupts, but our motive behind it. What is your motive for doing what you do?

Don't be afraid of testifying to the glory of God as He prompts you to. Happy Monday.
